If you have a change of any kind in your breast - such as pain, discharge or a lump - you should have it evaluated as soon as you can. At the Pink Lotus Breast Center, we will perform a thorough clinical breast exam and evaluate your area of concern with Ultrasound right on the spot. Depending on the findings, a mammogram, contrast enhanced mammogram, aspiration or biopsy may be necessary. Except for rare circumstances, any of these additional procedures can be performed after your exam, on the same day.
One of our fundamental goals is to provide our patients with fast and accurate answers so that they can have peace of mind as soon as possible! If you woke up with a breast problem this morning, we strive to have you sleep tonight with an answer.
If you are seeing us for a clinical breast exam, please inquire with your physician about your overall risk for breast cancer and the possibility that you carry a genetic predisposition, also known as the BRCA gene mutation.
How often should I have a routine breast exam? Answer: The American Cancer Society recommends that women in their 20's and 30's have a clinical breast exam every three years, while women 40 years and older should have one every year.
